A Brief Biography of Paul Marciano
Paul Marciano was born in the year 1952 in Morocco and was raised in the Jewish family. Marseilles in France made most of the childhood of Paul Marciano and his four siblings namely Armand, Maurice, Georges, and Jacqueline. His Jewish roots have a long history of rabbis as his father, grandfather and great-grandfather were rabbis in the Jewish culture. His father being a rabbi, Paul Marciano together with his siblings live in a synagogue complex in Marseilles, France where he along with his brothers also shared membership in the Jewish Boy Scouts.
The life of Paul Marciano took a dramatic turn when he got involved in a motorcycle accident that also had his childhood friend involved. What the accident entailed was the collision with a speeding car. Some of the tragic consequences of the accident led to the temporal disability of Paul Marciano when it comes to walking, and he had to use a wheelchair for quite an extended period.
Paul Marciano, however, sprang back after almost 2 years regaining his full ability to walk, but it didn’t get the chance to go back to school as the educational procedures cannot allow him to resume studies after such an extended stay away from school. This is what led not traveling back to Israel for Paul Marciano and the commencement of his business career.
Two years later, Paul Marciano resumed his stay in Marseilles where he offered to what is a salesman in a local jeans store. They also started a local business as brothers, but they were strong ties throughout the city of Marseilles. An all-white blouse clothing line was also created out of the sale of the ties that are meant to cover the soft target market for the business. Maurice Georges Armand was born from the small local business in the year 1973 and is a recognizable brand in the world right now.
In the year 1977, Paul Marciano together with his brothers traveled to Los Angeles in the United States of America where they developed business interests there. It was during their stay in the city of Los Angeles that the business MGA group to become Guess Inc. Paul Marciano played a significant part of their advertising in Guess Inc. that made the sales come up to $6 million.
The growth of Guess Inc. attracted willing investors with the Jordache brothers offering the Marciano brothers a lucrative partnership agreement. This partnership, however, does not last for long as it was later found out that the Marciano’s were involved in a false argument.
Paul Marciano has been very instrumental in the growth of Guess Inc., and he worked at some point as the president and later on as an executive chairman.
